Please pay attention folks! This is a busy weekend for visitors to Ithaca, so it is important to book hotels and transportation early! Both may fill up quickly and make your travel less pleasant!

Cornell University is located in Ithaca, NY, in the heart of the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York. Information about the area can be found here.

Air Travel
The local airport is the Ithaca-Tompkins Regional Airport (code ITH) and is served by American, United, and Delta airlines. This is by far the most convenient airport to fly into, as it is located approximately 5 minutes from the Laboratory of Ornithology, and 15 minutes from the Cornell campus or downtown. However, as it is a small commuter airport, flights are limited and thus we encourage you to book your tickets early.
Regional airports in Elmira (ELM) and Binghamton (BGM) are roughly an hour away from Ithaca. Syracuse (SYR) has a larger airport and is roughly 90 minutes from Ithaca.

Even further away, Rochester (ROC) has more flight options but is a two hour drive away. It is also possible to fly into New York City and take a commercial bus, or drive the ~5 hours to Ithaca.

We’ve chosen these two hotels because they are closest to the Lab of O and will have at least limited shuttles availability for transport to and from, but if you have transport, you can stay in any Ithaca hotel.
